Tejedoras del Legado (Weavers of Legacy)
Discover how this impact can reach your life
How did Weavers of the Legacy come about?
The mission of this initiative is to empower indigenous and mestizo women in Quito and its surroundings through a holistic methodology that integrates emotional well-being , sexual and reproductive health , education on gender violence , and financial autonomy.
Tejedoras del Legado emerged from the success of BIENSUR's "Yo Decido" pilot program, carried out in 2024 together with TARIMIAT Cultura Amazónica, which benefited 25 indigenous migrant women in Quito with more than 100 hours of comprehensive training in sexual health, self-esteem and violence prevention.
